Error codePF
ApplianceWasher
Quick answer
PF signals a power failure or interruption: the cycle stopped. Holding Start/Pause for 5 seconds while unpowered is the reset.
Model compatibility: LG reuses codes across series and model years, so PF may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What this code means
Power failure or interruption: the cycle stopped.
PF stands for power failure. It can show when power to the washer was interrupted during a cycle, for example in a power outage. It appears on front-load washers and top-load washers, and the code is listed for dryers too.
Reset sequence for front-load washers
Unplug the washer, or switch off the circuit breaker that feeds it.
With no power, press and hold START/PAUSE for 5 seconds.
Restore power and try a cycle.
If PF persists, the unit needs repair service.
Top-load washers
On a top-load washer, PF shows that power was cut and the washer remembers its last point of operation. After an outage or an unplugged cord it continues from there, and the manual says it is not an error. Press start/pause to run it again.
If PF keeps coming back after the reset, speak with our Los Angeles team at (310) 742-8008 about LG washer repair. Mention whether there was an outage, and give the model number.
Important safety warning. Do not attempt repairs involving electrical components, gas, water lines, refrigerant or sealed systems. Unplug the appliance if it is safe to reach the outlet, and leave internal diagnostics to a qualified technician.
