Error codeIE, E02, E10
ApplianceWasher
Quick answer
IE (E02, E10) is the LG water inlet error: the tub does not fill to the required level in the expected time.
Model compatibility: LG reuses codes across series and model years, so IE, E02, E10 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What this code means
Water inlet error: the tub does not fill to the required level in the expected time.
IE, E02 and E10 all mean a water inlet error. The tub did not fill to an adequate level within the expected time. The steps below cover front-load washers, WashTower units and top-load washers, and a SideKick note follows.
Usual reasons
Water is cut off, the faucet is closed or the supply hose is not connected.
The hose is pressed or bent.
The hose or pipe is frozen in cold weather.
Checks in order
Confirm the supply hose is attached to the faucet.
Make sure the faucet is open. Turn it anti-clockwise to open it.
Straighten any pressed or bent hose. Movement during washing and spinning can bend it. If the bend is severe, close the faucet, disconnect the hose and unfold it.
Clean the inlet filter: close the taps, separate the end of the hose, lift out the filter with tweezers or your hands, and brush off rust, sand and pebbles with a small brush such as a toothbrush.
If it may be frozen
Disconnect the hose, open the faucet and see whether water comes out. With none, soak a towel in hot water and wrap it around the faucet for 5 minutes. Thaw the loose hose in warm water below 50 °C. If these checks do not help, the water supply valve may be at fault.
SideKick pedestal washer
For the SideKick, IE is a water supply problem. Check that the faucets are fully open, the hoses are not kinked and water pressure is adequate, and clean the inlet filters.
If the tub still will not fill after the faucet, hose and filter are sorted, ring (310) 742-8008. Our Los Angeles team handles LG washer repair; keep the model number and the checks you completed to hand.
Important safety warning. Do not attempt repairs involving electrical components, gas, water lines, refrigerant or sealed systems. Unplug the appliance if it is safe to reach the outlet, and leave internal diagnostics to a qualified technician.
